- 1 small peeled Onions
- 1 small piece of nutmeg
- 3 whole Cloves
- I bay Leaves
- 3 Tbsp Butter
- 3 Tbsp Flour
- 2 Cup of hot Milk
- To taste, Salt, Pepper, Nutmeg
- Cut into an onion, about one 1 inch deep, and slide the Bay leave into the slit.
- Stick the Clove into the onions, and place it. Along with the Milk into a heavy noncorrosive
- Sauce Pan. Place it over medium heat.
- In a separate Pan, cook the butter and flour for about 5 min stirring continuously with browning until it emits a nutty aroma. remove from the fire.
- When the milk is fairly hot, pour some into the cooled-down roux, stirring until the milk is completely mixed in. Return this to the remaining milk, and simmer for 15 min stirring frequently.
- Season to taste with Salt, white pepper, and nutmeg, strain. and set aside until ready to use.
